Dilemma

So, I went to Sound Exchange (Rt. 23 North , Wayne, N.J.) earlier today to buy the new Tom Waits album, "Real Gone." Sound Exchange kicks ass. They're a bit more expensive than a chain store, but they have so much cool shit. Imports, bootlegs, rare t-shirts, pictures, books, etc. The problem is, I always spend too much money. I go in looking for one thing, and walk out with several things.

I had planned to pop in, grab the Waits disc, pay for it, and walk out. That didn't happen. I made the mistake of glancing at the DVD section of the store. There I found a bootleg DVD of Mr. Bungle from their '95 ("Disco Volante") tour. I only got to see them once on that tour, at The Limelight in N.Y.C. Common sense dictated that I wait to purchase the $30 DVD, since I'm saving up to buy a new (well, not "new," but "different") car by the end of October.

Fuck common sense. Fuck it in its stupid asshole.

I couldn't pass up either item. See, I love Tom Waits. Not in a "gay" way, I just really dig his music. I had heard a few of his new tunes recently on WFMU (the greatest radio station ever!), and really liked them. There was no way I wasn't going to buy the new album.

Also, there was no way I could exit the store without buying the Bungle DVD. That kind of thing is hard to find (at least around here), and I know from experience that Sound Exchange only stocks one or two copies of such items. If I didn't buy it on the spot, it might never be there again. And I loves me some Mr. Bungle.

exercising my powers of rationalization, I bought both the Tom Waits album, and the Mr. Bungle DVD. $48.00 poorer, I headed home. Here's where the "dilemma" kicks in.

I don't have a CD player in my car (fuck you), so I couldn't listen to the Waits disc on the way home. So, upon arriving, I was torn as to what to enjoy first-the Waits CD, or the Bungle DVD.

Fuck.

Shit.

Piss!

What to do? WHAT TO DO?!?

At this point, I realize none of you probably give two tugs of a dead dog's dick what I decided to listen to/watch first. So, I'm not gonna tell ya. Feel free to post a comment with your guess, though, and we'll see how well you really know me.

In other news:

-Rodney Dangerfield died today. He will be missed.

-Starting this Wednesday (October 6th) Spunk, James, and I take back over hosting the weekly Open Mic Night at The Side Door on Colfax Ave. in Pompton Lakes. Come on out and drink with us.

-I just saw "Braveheart" for the first time ever tonight with the lovely miss K.B. It was a good flick, but I found myself distracted by the presence of such incandescent beauty. (I know you're reading this, "Karate Ditcher." It was nice to see you...)

-That's all for now, bogtrotters. I'm off to bed. Buy the new Tom Waits album, "Real Gone." You won't regret it.
