Feeling Groovy
Hmm...I just finished installing my free upgrade to MSN 9 Dial-up, and it's...different. I'm so used to my old MSN (MSN Negative 14, I believe) that I'm finding it difficult to navigate the new stuff. I got in touch with The Helpful Folks at MSN when my shit got hacked, and the guy on the phone actually laughed at me when I told him which version of MSN I had been working with. Apparently, it was quite old and outdated. Like me. So, now I have to figure out my new system (it's supposedly sooo much better than what I had-we'll see...).
Today was nice. I finally went to Fat Moose Comics in Whippany to pick up some books. I haven't been there since mid-January, and new books come in every week, and I pre-order a lot of books, so, do the math... I have a shitload of books on hold for me. Seriously, I spent $200, and didn't even liberate half of my stash. I need to get some more cash, and pick up the rest of my comic books. I feel bad for Mr. Moose, he relies on customers like me (bibliophiles) to keep his store in the green. I have been letting him down. I shall rectify this situation post haste.
"Rectify"- heh.
So, yeah, I got a bunch of kick-ass books (plenty of Ellis Goodness in there) and then headed to The BAG to get lunch, and get paid. Yup, Trout and I played a last-minute acoustic gig there last night. There was some sort of Ego Conflict with the scheduled band, and Bob fired them before they even set up. Then, he called us. James couldn't make it, so we played "Harold's Style Acoustic"-by which I mean, we got drunk and winged it (or is it "wung it"?). Much Fun was had. There was a good crowd, and after two "Bob Tai's" I was feeling just fine, thank you. I was afraid my voice wasn't going to hold out, between the forty minutes of lung- busting screaming that was the QKF gig the night before, and the larynx-burning acrid vomit that I had dealt with earlier in the day. That shit fucked me right up. My voice was raw and scratchy all day, which was cool, because I sounded a bit like Tom Waits. Tom Waits rules. Luckily, I was able to pull off the gig. I even managed to get through one Blind Melon tune, and two Tesla songs which are tough to sing even on a good day. Hooray for Bob Tai's!
We made some decent cash from the gig, $20 of which I used to have a pleasant lunch (hot open roast beast and a beer-yum). Tonight I get to whore myself out even more, for I am filling in for Dreamy Art at The Side Door with CHUMP. This should be fun. CHUMP usually pulls in a good crowd at The Door, and their song list is full of Heavy Tunes that allow me to jump around, scream, pound on my bass, and generally make a spectacle of myself. Plus, I get paid. That's always good. I like getting paid.
That's it. Two cans of Sparks later, and I'm feeling groovy. Looking forward to the gig tonight, and sitting around in my sweatpants reading comic books all day tomorrow. My Birfday is in a week, and I'm starting the celebration tonight...
...huh, how about that...I'm happy. Go figure.

I just had Sparks for the first time ever this past Saturday. That is some good shit! Reminded me of Kool-Aid. I threw back a 6 pack in about an hour with out even realizing it. Brite was drunk. So very, very drunk...
I need to figure out where I can buy more of that shit so I can drink for your birthday.
