Spider-Shawn?

This is strange.

The "Spider-Man 2" DVD came out today, and I picked up my copy before work. In fact, I was the first person at Blockbuster to buy one (I know this, because it hadn't yet been entered into the store computer when they tried to ring it up). I'm a nerd.

Later on in the day, my boss' wife came in to grab something to eat, and told me she had just realized last night who I remind her of- Tobey Maguire. Spider-Man himself! She said she watched the first Spider-Man movie, and she thought Tobey and I looked a bit alike. The return of Odd Compliment Week?

I just thought it strange, since not only do I look nothing like Tobey, I had been staring at the box for the new DVD all day. Odd timing.

Aside from the time some old guy said I remind him of Derek Jeter (see previous post-"Odd Compliment Week"), the only other celebrity I've been told I resemble (and this has actually happened quite a few times) is Edward Norton. Especially how he looked in "American History X," with the shaved head and goatee. That one I can almost agree with. But Derek Jeter and/or Tobey Maguire? Nah.

Anyway, that's it. I'm off to QKF rehearsal, and then it's time to crank up the old surround sound system, pour a glass of bourbon, and enjoy "Spider-Man 2."

I am a giant nerd.

And that's only one of the many reasons you love me.

Admit it.

You do.

Heh.
