I have news...

I just picked up a handful of gigs as a "hired gun" for a fairly big cover band (It's "Pushed"-formerly "Pushin' Daisy's"). They are going through some personnel changes, and need a competent bassist for some dates. They settled for me.

The poor bastards.

My first (and only) rehearsal with them is Tuesday night, and my debut is Thursday night at Pub 46, in Clifton.

I'm scheduled to play 6 or 7 gigs with them over the next three weeks, one (or two) of them taking place down in Belmar.

It should be a lot of fun. I have to learn a bunch of "new" tunes in a short period of time, but, I'm Shawn Hendricks-the Master of "winging it."

In the spirit of "winging it," instead of practicing the 20 or so songs I need to know by tomorrow night, I decided to go out drinking with Big Daddy Den-den this evening. Many drinks were drunk, many games of billards were played, and we spent a good twenty or so dollars playing a bunch of Hendrix tunes on the jukebox.

Good times.

Come on out to Pub 46 this Thursday to see me butcher trendy, K-ROCK songs. God damn, I love being a musician!
